The Foxboro Hot Tubs

Hacen garage rock sesentoso, pero en realidad son un afamado trío surgido en los 90. Los muchachos querían permanecer en el anonimato, pero les duró poco: alguien con buen oído (y seguramente con el dato de algún soplón) descubrió que detrás de la banda de garage rock sesentoso Foxboro Hot Tubs en realidad se escondían los mismísimos miembros de Green Day.

¿Cómo es eso? Resulta que un misterioso grupo con una estética decididamente anclada en los 60 abrió un website http://www.foxborohottubs.com ,hace unos días. Allí no se puede ver ninguna foto de los integrantes de la agrupación, pero sí se puede escuchar su EP, Stop Drop and Roll. Y cuando uno pone play, se hace evidente que en temas como Highway 1 la voz es la de Billie Joe Armstrong, aún cuando el estilo difiere de lo que suele hacer Green Day normalmente. En otras canciones se hacen cargo del micrófono Mike Dirnt y Tre Cool.

Esta no es la primera vez que Green Day se esconde tras un seudónimo para editar material que no se ajusta a su estilo habitual. En 2003, poco antes de la salida de American idiot, lanzaron el disco Money Money 2020 bajo el nombre de The Network. El sonido estaba más orientado a la new wave, y también los tres miembros cantaban.
